Working Patterns for Maximum Efficiency
In the modern business world we are often admonished to “work smarter, not harder”, yet this can sometimes be a little difficult to put into practice. This course provides practical skills and perspectives to do just that by encouraging delegates to fundamentally re-examine their working patterns.

Working Patterns for Maximum Efficiency (2 Days)
Overview
The increasing use of technology has led the modern corporate world to evolve in ways that mirror the capabilities of our IT and communications systems; for example, the financial markets now “follow the sun” with one global market opening as another one closes and this creates an almost ceaseless demand on our energy, time and attention. Whilst computers may be able to cope with running at peak load for lengthy periods of time, human beings cannot and attempting to do so causes our health, happiness, productivity and ultimately profitability to be compromised. This course examines the overwhelming scientific evidence that human beings are rhythmic creatures and that optimal efficiency, in almost all respects, is best achieved by attuning to and synchronizing our activities with these biological rhythms.
Objectives
Delegates who attend this two-day training can expect to:
- Experience an opportunity to review and revise their attitude towards working patterns,
- Understand what scientific research has discovered about the rhythmic nature of human activity and behaviour,
- Appreciate what the research has indicated are the negative consequences, personally and professionally, of disregarding these natural rhythms,
- Discover and attune to the subtle cues that indicate the presence of these rhythms,
- Be introduced to auditing and assessing their own patterns of working (and those of the groups and teams they interact with), allowing them to devise and implement appropriate and ecological changes to optimize performance.
Target audience
This course is desirable for any person interested in optimizing their own performance or the performance of those they manage. Managers, supervisors, team leaders, coaches, mentors, teachers, HR professionals and self-employed workers may all benefit profoundly. Those responsible for creating or evolving corporate cultures and attitudes may be particularly interested.
