Precision Questioning for Quality Information NLP Training Course (2 Days)
Overview
The Meta Model was one of the original concepts developed in NLP and remains one of the most flexible and powerful. Modelled from the work of exceptional change agents, the Meta Model offers a set of listening and questioning skills that, respectfully used, can beneficially uncover the hidden patterns of communication that are present but unspoken in any discussion. Rather than a set of prescriptive formulae, the Meta Model offers the flexible ability to detect when these hidden patterns may be present and elegant questions to elicit the true meanings and perspectives that underlie our spoken words.
The benefits produced by such questioning include:
- Greater clarity in communication in professional, business, personal and social interactions,
- A reduction in “crossed-wires” and “mixed messages”,
- An ability to generate a mutually understood ‘map’ of experience, rather than having to guess at another person’s meaning,
- The bringing to conscious awareness of the beliefs and attitudes that influence our world view, allowing these to be appraised and, if appropriate, revised,
- The ability to take greater control of our own communication to ensure we are accurately conveying what we really mean to.
Objectives
Delegates who attend this two-day experiential training can expect to be able to:
- Appreciate the NLP Communication Model
- Understand the theoretical underpinning of the Meta Model and its origins
- Realise the need to utilise the Meta Model respectfully and within a rapport based relationship
- Recognise and respond appropriately to the various Meta Model patterns
- Be sufficiently resourced to further develop their Meta Model skills through ongoing real world application
Target audience
The course is ideal for anyone who is in a position that requires them to communicate with others through language and both elicit and convey accurate and precise information. Those who might benefit particularly include managers, executives, HR professionals, sales people, interviewers, negotiators, coaches, mentors, counsellors and therapists. Another good rule of thumb about the relevance of this course to you is to ask yourself the question – do I often seem to end up misunderstanding or at odds with others over things I thought were clear? If the answer to that question is ‘yes’ this course could be just what you need.
This course is also ideal for existing NLP Practitioners and NLP Master Practitioners who would like to ‘brush up’ on their meta-model skills.
