Precision Questioning for Quality Information NLP Training Course (2 Days)

Overview

The Meta Model was one of the original concepts developed in NLP and remains one of the most flexible and powerful. Modelled from the work of exceptional change agents, the Meta Model offers a set of listening and questioning skills that, respectfully used, can beneficially uncover the hidden patterns of communication that are present but unspoken in any discussion. Rather than a set of prescriptive formulae, the Meta Model offers the flexible ability to detect when these hidden patterns may be present and elegant questions to elicit the true meanings and perspectives that underlie our spoken words.

The benefits produced by such questioning include:

  • Greater clarity in communication in professional, business, personal and social interactions,
  • A reduction in “crossed-wires” and “mixed messages”,
  • An ability to generate a mutually understood ‘map’ of experience, rather than having to guess at another person’s meaning,
  • The bringing to conscious awareness of the beliefs and attitudes that influence our world view, allowing these to be appraised and, if appropriate, revised,
  • The ability to take greater control of our own communication to ensure we are accurately conveying what we really mean to.

Objectives

Delegates who attend this two-day experiential training can expect to be able to:

  • Appreciate the NLP Communication Model
  • Understand the theoretical underpinning of the Meta Model and its origins
  • Realise the need to utilise the Meta Model respectfully and within a rapport based relationship
  • Recognise and respond appropriately to the various Meta Model patterns
  • Be sufficiently resourced to further develop their Meta Model skills through ongoing real world application

Target audience

The course is ideal for anyone who is in a position that requires them to communicate with others through language and both elicit and convey accurate and precise information. Those who might benefit particularly include managers, executives, HR professionals, sales people, interviewers, negotiators, coaches, mentors, counsellors and therapists. Another good rule of thumb about the relevance of this course to you is to ask yourself the question – do I often seem to end up misunderstanding or at odds with others over things I thought were clear? If the answer to that question is ‘yes’ this course could be just what you need.

This course is also ideal for existing NLP Practitioners and NLP Master Practitioners who would like to ‘brush up’ on their meta-model skills.

The Meta Model: Neuro-linguist Programming

The Meta Model: Neuro-linguist Programming

The NLP Meta Model, a pragmatic communications model, is adapted by users in order for their communication to sound more effortless, simple and clear.

This communications model is one of the more flexible ones developed in NLP, and is seen as one of the most valuable due to its ability to help speakers uncover hidden patterns in communication and see how their choice of language can help them access otherwise completely hidden meanings in language.

The questioning methods offered by adhering to the NLP Meta Model in speech include greater clarity when communicating with people, which ultimately means less mixed message. This can be particularly valuable in the business industry, where clarity in speech is of optimal importance.

Who is the Meta Model Useful For?

Clarity in speech is bound to create better resource management if used in a corporate environment, as it will reduce the chances of employees having to second-guess the meaning of a person's communication, and thus potentially spend time conducting irrelevant tasks before being told otherwise.

Taking business communication courses which specialise in teaching what the Meta Model of speech has to offer will give anyone in a corporate position - particularly whose job depends on crystal clear communication - the ability to communicate information with clarity and precision, with virtually no room for misinterpretation.

For HR department personnel who conduct interviews, therapists, sales people and departmental directors in large organisations, having such communication skills can be of enormous benefit, and make their jobs much easier.
